The Beatitudes Project is a music-driven giving initiative created to support people experiencing homelessness.

Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Jesus spoke these words to people who had nothing—no power, no security, no certainty.

The Beatitudes were not abstract ideals. They were spoken to the overlooked, the hungry, the grieving, and the displaced.

This project exists to transform His words into lyrics and inspire action.

Three musical interpretations of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount are offered here—not as products to buy, but as invitations to participate.

You choose the voice. You choose the amount. The blessing moves outward.

These recordings are more than a moment of worship: donations will be directed to charities serving the unhoused, turning every listen into an act of mercy. This project offers solace for worship and a tangible way to live out the Beatitudes by supporting neighbors in need.

Blessed in the Fight
$7.70

A raw, dark-blues interpretation of Jesus’ Beatitudes—spoken from the margins rather than the center. This piece reframes the familiar promises of Matthew as weathered truths breathed by those living at society’s edges: the hungry, the grieving, the persecuted, the poor in spirit. Gritty language and spare, aching melody strip the Beatitudes of comfort-zone theology and return them to their disruptive, consoling core. Created as part of the Beatitudes Project to support people experiencing homelessness, this work amplifies voices too often unheard and reminds us that the kingdom’s first beatitudes belong to those who’ve already been pushed down, then raised by grace. Expect honesty, sorrow, and an unflinching hope that looks like resistance and compassion.

BLESSED IN THE FIGHT
Blues Version
  • Out on the hillside where the wind hums  low,
    Jesus spoke to the ones with dust on their souls.
    He wasn’t talking to the mighty or polished and proud,
    just the quiet, the weary, the worn-down crowd.
    His voice rolled gentle like sunrise on skin—
    come close, little hearts, let My kingdom in.

    There is a blessing in the breaking,
    love in the ache. Grace grows wild in the cracks life makes.

    Blessed are the poor in spirit, heaven opens like a door;
    blessed are the ones who mourn, God holds every tear they pour.
    Blessed are the humble hearts, earth becomes their promised land;
    blessed are the hungry souls, He fills them with His righteous hand. Oh blessed we are.
    Even when the road is rough, His love is strong enough.

    Blessed are the merciful, hearts soft as rain;
    blessed are the pure in heart, no shadows remain.
    Blessed are the peacemakers walking slow through storm,
    carrying heaven in the way they’re formed.
    Blessed are the persecuted when the world turns cold;
    heaven’s reward is richer than gold.

    Chorus Repeats

    When the world presses hard and your faith feels thin,
    remember this—you are not forgotten, you’re not done.
    There is a fire in your chest that He Himself lit;
    the night will pass, hold tight to it.

    Blessed are the broken ones makes them bright and brave;
    blessed are the shadow-walkers, He turns darkness into day.
    Every step, every wound, He is closer than your breath—
    blessed we are, blessed we stay,
    held in a love that conquers death.

"Blessed in the Fight" is a gritty southern blues anthem that translates the raw honesty of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount into a soundscape of callused hands, weary roads, and stubborn hope. Drawing directly from the Beatitudes, the lyrics pair scripture’s promises—comfort for the mourning, strength for the meek, reward for the persecuted—with smoky guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and a vocal delivery that feels lived-in and true. This track doesn’t soften the struggle; it honors it, insisting that blessing is found not in ease but in faithful endurance. For listeners who crave faith rooted in real life, "Blessed in the Fight" is both a lament and a declaration: the kingdom’s promise stands firm in the middle of the battle.

BLESSED ON THE BROKEN ROAD
Australian Folk Version
  • Midnight on the mountainside, shadows crawling slow,
    Jesus spoke to the hollow hearts, the ones the world won’t know.
    Poor in spirit, torn in pieces, trying just to stand—
    He said, “Child, the kingdom’s here, and it’s already in your hands.”

    Blessed in the fire, blessed in the fight,
    Blessed in the darkness when you’re clingin’ to the light.
    Blessed when you’re hungry, longing for what’s right—
    Mercy’s gonna meet you in the middle of the night.
    Oh, blessed are the broken, walking through the pain—
    Grace comes like thunder in a dry, hard rain.

    Blessed are the mourners—He’s gonna hold their tears.
    Blessed are the meek ones—strength beyond their fears.
    Blessed the mercy-givers, hearts soft but strong,
    Blessed the pure in heart who never quite belong.
    Blessed the peacemakers in a world set to explode—
    Blessed the persecuted on the long, rough road.

    Trouble may shape you, but it won’t claim you.

    When the world swings hard, and the night gets long—
    Hold your ground, child, you were built for the storm.
    There’s a kingdom rising underneath your scars—
    You’re blessed, you’re called, you’re carried by God.

    Blessed when you’re weary, barely standin’ upright—
    Heaven’s on your side in the long cold night.
    Oh, blessed we remain, through shadow and rain—
    Mercy is the melody that breaks every chain.

BLESSED ARE WE
Traditional Worship
  • On the mountain in the morning light,
    Jesus spoke and the world came alive.
    To broken hearts and empty hands,
    to those who feel they barely stand—
    He said lift your eyes, you’re not alone;
    the kingdom of heaven is your home.

    Every blessing sounds like mercy,
    every promise breaks the night.
    Take these words into your spirit;
    let them bloom into your life.

    Blessed are we in the heart of God,
    even when we’re weak, even when we’re lost.
    Blessed are the humble, blessed are the pure;
    heaven stands open for the longing and unsure.
    He is making all things new in you and me.

    Blessed are the ones who mourn their pain;
    God Himself will hold them in the rain.
    Blessed are the meek the world calls small—
    they will rise and inherit all.
    Blessed are the hungry, aching for what’s right;
    they will feast on the goodness of Christ.

    When the battle is heavy and the world turns cold,
    blessed are the faithful, quietly holding hope.
    Though pressed and tried and misunderstood,
    your reward is held secure by God.
    Lift your eyes—there is glory in the tears you cry.

    Blessed are we in the heart of God,
    held in His strength and formed by His love.
    Blessed are the poor in spirit, blessed are the pure;
    we stand, we endure, we are made new.
