SURRENDER TO PEACE

In our fast-paced world, peace can often seem elusive. Yet, the Bible promises a peace that transcends our understanding.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”Isaiah 26:3

Peace isn’t something we stumble into. It’s something we surrender into.

Scripture doesn’t promise a quieter world. It promises a steadier mind.

Isaiah names it perfect peaceshalom. Not the absence of trouble, but wholeness in the middle of it. A mind anchored. A heart held.

Peace comes when attention does.

What we fix our minds on quietly rules us. News cycles. Outcomes. Regrets. What-ifs. Or—truth. Presence. Trust.

To keep your mind stayed on God isn’t passive. It’s deliberate alignment. Returning—again and again—to what is solid when everything else feels unstable.

The world offers relief. God offers rest.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts…”Colossians 3:15

Rule is the key word. Peace isn’t a mood—it’s a governing authority.

When God’s peace rules, it decides what gets access. What gets carried. What gets released.

It becomes the inner referee—calling fouls on fear, rushing, and false urgency. Guiding choices. Restoring unity. Re-centering gratitude.

Reflection

  • Where has peace been crowded out by control?

  • What are you rehearsing in your mind that God never asked you to carry?

  • What would change today if peace—not pressure—was allowed to rule?

Surrender doesn’t weaken you. It steadies you.

Keep your mind where your trust belongs. And let shalom do its quiet work.
