PERSEVERANCE

Perseverance does not require us to deny our wounds or pretend we are unaffected. It is the quiet choice to keep bringing our burdens before the Lord when answers are slow and strength feels depleted.

I’m starting to realize what it means to trust God when circumstances refuse to make sense. Over the past year, false accusations, legal battles, and broken trust have created a weight that can feel difficult to carry. In moments like these, it’s easy to feel isolated, replay conversations, and wonder how such painful circumstances fit within God’s purpose.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2-3

James does not minimize the reality of suffering. Rather, he invites us to see our trials through a different lens. The joy he describes is not found in the pain itself, but in the confidence that God is at work within it. When our faith is tested, perseverance begins to take root. What feels like pressure today may be the very thing God is using to deepen our dependence on Him.

The example of Christ reminds us that forgiveness and trust in the Father can coexist with deep suffering. He was falsely accused, rejected, and wounded, yet He continued to entrust Himself to God. As we follow Him, we discover that grace is not weakness. It is the strength to remain anchored when everything around us feels uncertain.

Though these trials may seem relentless, they do not have the final word. God is still refining, strengthening, and shaping us through them. What feels like a season of attack may also be a season of preparation, where faith grows deeper, hope becomes steadier, and Christ is formed more clearly within us.
