PEACE IN CONFLICT

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

I'm still learning how easy it is to let conflict shape my heart. For years, I've been in a difficult battle with a former business partner, facing false accusations and painful misrepresentations. In moments like these, I'm reminded that kindness is not weakness. Most conflicts leave no true winner—only people carrying different measures of loss. The greater challenge is allowing God to preserve our hearts while we walk through them.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” — Matthew 5:9

Jesus spoke these words into a world marked by tension, division, and broken relationships. His call to peacemaking goes far beyond avoiding conflict. It is an invitation to reflect the heart of God by pursuing peace even when circumstances remain unsettled.

As I read through the Gospels, I'm struck by how Jesus lived this beatitude. He brought peace to troubled souls, restored broken relationships, and responded to opposition without surrendering His love. Even when confronted by false accusations, He remained anchored in the Father's will. His example reminds us that peacemaking is not passive. It is the steady work of trusting God with both justice and our hearts.

We may not be able to control how others speak, respond, or act. But we can surrender our desire for retaliation and allow God's grace to shape our posture. Peace is not found in winning every argument. It is found in remaining faithful to Christ while walking through them.

Ask Yourself:

What part of this conflict am I being invited to surrender to God's peace today?
